Tim Hortons locations in northwestern Ontario are set for a makeover.

The company has revealed plans to renovate restaurants in Fort Frances and Thunder Bay, along with building a new one in Dryden.

These upgrades are part of a $400 million renovation initiative that will affect 480 restaurants nationwide.

The renovations will feature better lighting, redesigned layouts, an updated display for baked goods, enhanced digital ordering and pickup options, plus new kitchen equipment.

“Tim Hortons was built in Canada by Canadians, and we are proud to continue investing in Canada to give our guests beautiful, modern restaurants to enjoy,” states Axel Schwan, President of Tim Hortons, in a release.

“These are Canadian families investing their own money in their own communities – and that’s something we’re proud of.”

The company indicates that local and regional tradespeople will be engaged for the renovations.

It also aims to procure renovation materials through Canadian-owned suppliers, with most products made right here in Canada.

The renovations are expected to commence this year.
