Barbecuing Season is Here

THUNDER BAY – WEATHER – Saturday morning kicks off mild and humid in Thunder Bay, with mostly cloudy skies and some fog patches that should clear up by mid-morning. The day will stay mainly overcast, but temperatures are on the rise, promising a warm early June afternoon with a high of 25°C and a humidex close to 28.

It’s a perfect day for grilling, and don’t forget that the Border Cats game starts at 6:35 PM at Port Arthur Stadium.

At noon, Waverly Park will host a protest led by Grassy Narrows and Whitedog against nuclear waste storage in Ignace.

Current Weather Update

As of 9:00 AM EDT, Thunder Bay is experiencing mostly cloudy weather with a temperature reading of 17.3°C. There’s quite a bit of moisture in the air, with a dew point at 14.0°C and humidity sitting at 81 percent, giving the morning a damp and slightly muggy sensation.

Winds are light from the north at 2 km/h, visibility remains good at 32 km, while the barometric pressure is recorded at 101.2 k Pa and increasing, indicating stable weather settling in for today.

The forecast for today predicts mainly cloudy skies as fog patches fade away this morning. This afternoon’s high will reach around 25°C with a humidex of 28. The UV index is rated at 7, which means sun protection is advisable even when it’s cloudy.

Tonight we can expect some clouds along with cooler overnight lows dropping to about 8°C.

Sunday, June 7: Thunder Bay will have a brighter day ahead with mainly sunny skies hitting highs around 23°C. The UV index will jump to 9 or very high; sunscreen, sunglasses, and hats are must-haves for those spending time outside. Sunday night should be clear as temperatures cool down to about 9°C.

Monday, June 8: Look forward to mixed sun and clouds reaching highs of about 22°C. Clouds will build overnight leading into Monday evening with about a 60 percent chance of showers by then along with lows around 12°C.

Tuesday, June 9: An unsettled pattern lingers on Tuesday bringing more clouds along with another chance of showers sitting at roughly 60 percent. Expect highs around24°C before more cloudiness rolls in Tuesday night cooling down to about11°C.
