A man has been charged after police in St. Thomas reported that three people were struck by paintballs during an incident that also caused damage to a vehicle.
According to St. Thomas police, they received a report on Monday afternoon about the paintball strikes, which came from a building located on the city’s west side. The exact address has not been disclosed by police. They also mentioned that a vehicle was damaged during this incident.
A 31-year-old man faces charges of two counts of assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, and mischief. He was taken into custody at police headquarters and is awaiting a court appearance, as stated in a news release from the police on Tuesday.

The OPP in South Bruce reported that in this scam, individuals receive phone calls claiming to be from the local fire department – and it may show up on their caller ID as coming from an official number. The callers ask for donations to support “fundraisers, training or equipment.” Police have received reports about two such incidents. Police note that fire departments “generally hold in-person fundraisers and public events,” and they don’t solicit money over the phone.
