Your Rights and Options

In Ontario, anyone involved in criminal incidents, whether as a victim or accused, has specific legal rights. Victims of violent crimes may have access to support and resources, including compensation for certain damages through programs like the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board. For those who are accused, rights such as fair trial guarantees, presumption of innocence, and access to legal counsel are fundamental under Canadian law.

It’s crucial to keep in mind that these are allegations that haven’t been proven in court yet; an accused person is innocent until found guilty.
