People in Ontario who have contributed to economic growth, created new opportunities, and supported rural areas of the province might be eligible for a provincial award.
The Ontario government is now accepting nominations for the 2027 Rural Ontario Inspiration Awards. Individuals, organizations, businesses, and communities can be nominated in one of eight categories: Rural Inspiration, Rural Community, Rural Entrepreneur, Rural Youth Leader, Rural Economic Innovation, Rural Partnerships, Rural Champion, and Rural Heart.

Nominations are being accepted at Ontario. ca/Rural Awards until October 23.
The Ministry of Rural Affairs hosted the inaugural Rural Ontario Inspiration Awards in January 2026.
