York Regional Police are looking into a drive‑by shooting that took place in Richmond Hill early Wednesday morning after several shots were fired at a house that had been hit in a similar event back in November.
Officers arrived at Bryson Drive around 4:55 a. m. following reports of gunfire outside the residence. According to police, multiple rounds were shot from a vehicle, hitting both the home and a car parked in the driveway. Thankfully, no one was inside the house during the incident, and there were no injuries reported.
Staff Sgt. Peter Cheung informed reporters at the scene that the suspects remained in their vehicle while firing. Investigators suspect that two or more individuals were involved and fled the area in a grey Honda SUV. No descriptions of the suspects have been provided yet.
This same residence was previously targeted in a drive‑by shooting in November 2025, which also resulted in property damage but no injuries. There have been no arrests made related to that case, and investigators are currently trying to determine if there’s any connection between the two shootings.
Sgt. Cheung mentioned that initial signs indicate Wednesday’s shooting was deliberate, and there is no immediate threat to public safety.
