Luca B. of Pickering won $100,000 with a scratch ticket
A retail worker from Pickering is now $100,000 richer after hitting his first big lottery win.
Luca B. initially thought he had only won $10 and was “surprised and overjoyed” when he found out that his 5X the Cash scratch ticket was worth six figures.
“I called my dad, who was at work, and was crying tears of joy when I told him I’d won $100,000. He said, ‘get out of here!’ I also called my mom, and she thought I was joking,” Luca recalled with a chuckle. “Eventually, I shared the news with my whole family, and everyone was excited to come celebrate with me.”
Luca mentioned that he’ll take some time to process this windfall before making any plans. He hopes to invest part of his winnings, buy a new car, and save for a house.
“I never believed I’d win big. This has been an amazing experience,” he said.
