A motorcyclist experienced serious injuries after losing control of his bike on October 7 in Pickering.
West Division officers responded to a single vehicle crash on Liverpool Road, just north of Bayly Street, at 4:35 p. m. on Wednesday, October 7 when a 21-year-old motorcyclist, heading south on Liverpool Road, lost control and veered off the road.
The rider suffered significant, life-changing injuries and was taken to a trauma center in Toronto where he remains in serious but stable condition.
A pedestrian walking southbound on Liverpool Rd was also hurt by flying debris. He sustained minor injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Members of the DRPS Collision Investigation Unit arrived at the scene to figure out what led to the crash. The cause of the incident is still being looked into.

This year has seen an increase in motorcycle accidents resulting in injuries and fatalities. A tragic incident occurred on June 26 when a 34-year-old motorcyclist died after a Chevrolet Malibu turned left into his path while he was riding southbound on Harwood Avenue North at Kerrison Drive East in Ajax.
On May 26 in Oshawa, another motorcyclist was hospitalized with non-life-threatening leg injuries following a collision with a car at Wilson Road and King Street.
