A man has been apprehended and charged with second-degree murder concerning a house fire in Pickering that led to the death of a 69-year-old woman last June.
The incident took place on the afternoon of June 11 near Primrose Court and Fairport Road.
The body of a 69-year-old woman was discovered inside the home. After an autopsy, authorities classified her death as homicide.
On June 19, police arrested a different individual, a 34-year-old woman from Pickering, charging her with accessory after the fact to murder. Additionally, they were seeking another man aged 34 on a Canada-wide warrant linked to this investigation.
In their news release on Monday, police indicated that this man was taken into custody last Friday.
