One person has died following a crash near Peterborough.

Emergency services responded to a two-vehicle accident involving a pickup truck towing a trailer and an SUV on Highway 7, west of Emily Park Road in Fowlers Corners, at about 6:15 a. m. on April 29, according to the Ontario Provincial Police.

As a result of the accident, the driver and only occupant of the SUV, a 57-year-old woman from Peterborough, was pronounced dead at the scene, police stated.

No injuries were reported for the driver or passenger of the pickup truck, as per the OPP.

The investigation is still ongoing with help from OPP Technical Collision Investigators and Reconstructionists. Highway 7 was closed in both directions between Frank Hill Road and Emily Park Road for several hours while emergency teams and investigators worked on-site, but it has since reopened.

Anyone with information or video footage related to the incident is encouraged to reach out to the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or report anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online at ontariocrimestoppers. ca.
