PETERBOROUGH, ON – After a strong kickoff to the 2026 season, an unfavorable weather forecast led to the cancellation of the second race event at Peterborough Speedway. With heavy rain and strong winds expected to hit the area, track officials had no choice but to cancel the evening’s racing activities.

When racing resumes in Central Ontario, fans can look forward to a night featuring the local Battlefield Equipment Rental Bone Stock, Switch Tire Mini Stock, Super Stock and Late Model divisions. This event will also include the first visit of the season from the Outlaw Midgets series. The weekly Kid’s Bike Races will be highlighted during intermission. Pit gates open at 2:00 p. m., while spectator grandstands open at 5:00. The initial Great Canadian RV green flag is set for 6:00.

Be sure to mark your calendars for Saturday, June 6th for the season’s first Double Toonie/Fan Appreciation Night, sponsored by Pepsi. Enjoy thrilling races featuring local Bone Stock, Mini Stock, Renegade Truck and Super Stock classes alongside the rain-delayed debut of GEN-3 Electrical OMRS Sports Mods. Gates will open at 4:00 p. m., with racing kicking off at 5:00; admission to spectator grandstands is just $4.00. Additionally, there’ll be a Fan Appreciation autograph session during intermission.

Cottage Country race fans are also gearing up for Peterborough Speedway’s first big event of the year on Saturday, June 13th. The United Racing Series’ APC Late Model tour presented by Castrol and Dayco Super Stock series will feature an exciting doubleheader with 175 laps for Late Models and 50 laps for Super Stocks. Also competing that day are local Mini Stocks along with Trailers Plus Ontario Legend Car Series and Ontario Bandoleros. Grandstands open at 2:00 p. m., with racing beginning at 4:00.

The focus of this year’s schedule at Canada’s Toughest 3rd Mile Oval is all about Making Memories for Life. Don’t miss out on any Saturday night action! For updates on schedules and events, connect with us at www. peterboroughspeedway. com and through our social media channels.
