Durham Police have found what might be human remains in north-west Pickering.

A strong police presence is noted on William Jackson Drive as members of the Forensic Identification Services unit look into “what appear to be human remains.”

The road will remain closed to the public between Taunton Road and Earl Grey Avenue for a while, according to police.

Authorities were present on Sunday for what they described as an “active police investigation” before calling in the forensics team.

Updates on this developing story will be shared as they come in.
