A popular American sandwich chain with the tagline “A Sub Above” is getting ready to open a new spot in Peterborough as part of its wider growth across Canada.
Jersey Mike’s, founded in New Jersey back in 1956, has announced that Peterborough will join other new Canadian locations like Barrie, Toronto, Sudbury, Burlington, Steinbach, Yorkton, and Kelowna.
Currently, the company runs over 3,000 restaurants throughout North America, including 26 in Canada. They aim to reach an impressive total of 300 stores in Canada by the year 2035.
The new Peterborough location will be situated at 947 Lansdowne Street West; however, an official date for opening hasn’t been shared yet.
In Canada, franchise operator Redberry Restaurants is spearheading the brand’s expansion and already operates a site in Barrie.
Typically, Jersey Mike’s outlets are open every day from 10 a. m. to 10 p. m.
The upcoming opening in Peterborough adds to a growing trend of mid-sized markets in Ontario welcoming new national and international food chains as expansion continues across the province.
