Perth-Wellington MPP Matthew Rae has shared that nearly $90,000 is being allocated to projects in Perth County.
This funding comes through the provincial government’s Rural Ontario Development fund, as stated in a press release from Rae’s office. This program represents “a $20 million investment by the province to strengthen local economies, support rural workers and assist communities in planning for long-term growth.”
In Perth County, Klomp’s Home and Garden will receive just over $8,600 for its Main Greenhouse Roadside Appeal project. Broken Rail Brewing will get a bit more than $300 for equipment upgrades and making their space more accessible.
Furthermore, Perth County is set to receive over $70,000 for its tourism wayfinding signage, while the Perth Farmhouse is getting $10,000 aimed at diversifying their winery offerings for year-round tourism.
The next round of applications for the Rural Ontario Development fund opens on August 17. For more details, click here: https://www. ontario. ca/page/enabling-opportunity-ontarios-rural-economic-development-strategy
“Strong rural communities are built through partnerships that support local businesses, encourage investment, and create new opportunities,” said MPP Rae. “This provincial funding will help Perth County and its local businesses build on the great work already underway, strengthen the local economy, and enhance the quality of life that makes our communities such great places to live, work, and visit.”
