Authorities are looking into a death that occurred at a park with a strange name in eastern Ontario on Sunday. The Lanark OPP Criminal Investigation branch, along with the emergency response team, the Office of the Chief Coroner, and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service, have all been called to assist.
Officers arrived at Last Duel Park in Perth shortly after 3 p. m. Sunday, where they found one person suffering from life-threatening injuries. The individual was transported to a trauma centre but was later pronounced dead. Initial reports indicate this may be an isolated event, according to police, who noted there are no indications of a wider threat.
The cause of death has not yet been determined as a homicide.
Law enforcement stated they will keep investigating and residents should expect to see more police activity in the area.
