You can find just about anything at Costco; from electronics to apparel to giant cans of tomatoes, it’s a go-to spot for many shoppers.
And now, you can grab Ottawa Senators tickets there too, as reported by Blog TO.
Costco shared earlier this month that it has begun offering tickets for Ottawa Senators games on its website and at some locations in Ontario and Gatineau, including Kanata, Nepean, Barrhaven, Gloucester, and Kingston.
It’s a decent deal as well: Costco is providing a pair of lower-bowl tickets to the Canadian Tire Centre in Kanata, which includes parking passes for $249.99.
Leafs? Not so affordable
In comparison, Leafs tickets start around $300 before taxes for similar seats at Scotiabank Arena, and that’s for an obstructed view. The prices can skyrocket depending on the opponent; catching the Leafs against an Original Six rival like Boston or Montreal might set you back $1,000 per seat.
Even the cheap seats aren’t really cheap. Standing room only for the Leafs starts reportedly at $160 before tax, while nosebleeds begin around $185 according to Streets of Toronto.
Fans frustrated
These steep prices have Leaf fans feeling angry (though these days what doesn’t?). They’ve taken to Instagram to express their thoughts.
Instagram user rickrowley3 says: “$268 bones to stand?! Can’t even sit down! If you sit, they will kick you out. Do these tickets come with a gummy too or what?! Look at this one! $300 bones for obstructed view. What’s that even mean? Is that like f-in’ 50%?”
If enough Leaf fans feel this way, they might want to put aside their pride and head up north to an Ottawa-area Costco to snag Sens tickets and save some cash.
