The Ontario government is increasing its support for the Éditions Terre d’Accueil publishing house located in Oshawa.

This time, they are providing $8,911 through the Ontario Arts Council.

Earlier this year, in February, the provincial government had already offered funding to this same publisher.

“Our government understands the important role performing arts play in fostering dynamic and thriving communities across Ontario,” said Lorne Coe, MPP Whitby, Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Children, Community and Social Services, and Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Colleges, Universities, Research Excellence, and Security. “This support will help Oshawa’s artists and arts organizations continue to make a positive impact on our economy, create good jobs and draw more visitors to our community.”

The grant money comes from the Touring and Circulation Projects program

“We would like to sincerely thank the Government of Ontario, through the Ontario Arts Council, for this grant, which reflects its commitment to promoting and enhancing the visibility of Franco-Ontarian literature both across Canada and internationally.” said Suzanne Kemenang, directrice générale, Éditions Terre d’Accueil “With this support, Éditions Terre d’Accueil will be able to strengthen its presence in Québec and Europe, further showcase the richness of Franco-Ontarian literary creation, and build new relationships with key stakeholders in the publishing and book sector.”

In Oshawa this funding will allow Éditions Terre d’Accueil to participate in events like the Frankfurt Book Fair, Outaouais Book Fair, and Brussels Book Fair.
