The OPP reported seizing approximately $4.7 million worth of drugs following a comprehensive drug trafficking investigation across multiple jurisdictions.
In March, the Sûreté du Québec alerted the OPP about possible drug trafficking activities between Ontario and Québec.
An investigation was initiated, uncovering a drug trafficking network operating in the Greater Toronto Area, which included participants from Halton Region.
On June 4, five search warrants were executed at residences in Acton, Georgetown, Erin, and Oshawa.
During these searches, officers confiscated the following items:
46 kg suspected cocaine 400 bottles of liquid codeine (100ml) 1,400 oxycodone 80 mg tablets 2,500 oxycodone 5 mg tablets Six bottles of liquid hydrocodone (500ml) Cell phones A quantity of Canadian currency
The total estimated street value of the seized drugs is $4.7 million.
Austin Huxter, 32 years old from Oshawa, and Andrea Huxter, also 32 and from Oshawa, face charges for possession with intent to traffic – oxycodone and possession with intent to traffic – codeine.
A man from Acton and another from Georgetown were also taken into custody.
