A man from Oshawa has been charged in connection with a break-and-enter at a property located northeast of Lindsay. Police report that he is also connected to several other break-ins in the surrounding area.

Kawartha Lakes OPP responded to an active break-and-enter early Tuesday morning at a home in Emily Township and managed to apprehend Ronald Shaw at the scene.

Authorities state that multiple properties have fallen victim to break-in offenses committed by the suspect. They also claim that Shaw may be involved in other incidents across different jurisdictions, which are still being looked into by other police departments.

The 36-year-old Shaw has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime (valued under $5,000), breaking and entering with the intent to commit an indictable offense, along with two breaches of probation.

He made his initial appearance for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on Tuesday afternoon.

The City of Kawartha Lakes OPP is urging anyone who has additional information or surveillance footage from the area to reach out to the police.
