A new Homeless and Addiction Recovery Treatment (HART) Hub has opened in Oshawa.

This is one of 28 hubs set to launch across the province, and it’s the second one in Durham.

The hubs are funded by the province to offer comprehensive and accessible services.

There will be up to 10 beds available with support around the clock, seven days a week.

The Oshawa HART Hub, in collaboration with the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) Durham, officially opened on Monday at 78 Richmond Street West.

“We are grateful to the province for approving this application,” said Sheryl Wedderburn, Chief Executive Officer of CMHA Durham. “This funding allows us to bridge gaps and enhance the continuum of care for those who need it most.”

“The Oshawa HART Hub completes our 28-site provincial network and marks a turning point for mental health care in Ontario,” said Vijay Thanigasalam, Associate Minister of Mental Health and Addictions. “By bringing addiction recovery and housing supports together in one location, we are making it easier for people in Durham Region to access life-changing care. This is about building a stronger, safer, and more supportive province for individuals and families.”
