Mark Jacula Starting August 27, Justice Mark Andrew Jacula will serve at the Ontario Courts in Oshawa, as announced by Chief Justice Sharon Nicklas. The appointment of five new judges to the Ontario Court of Justice was shared by Doug Downey, the Attorney General of Ontario. Justice Jacula was called to the bar in Ontario back in 2005. He kicked off his legal career as a defense lawyer with Kelly Greenway Bruce and took on drug cases for the Public Prosecution Service of Canada, according to a provincial statement. In 2008, he began practicing criminal law at Jacula Law. He has represented clients before both the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and the Ontario Court of Justice. From 2018 to 2024, he served as chair of the Durham Region Law Association. Outside of work, Justice Jacula coaches youth soccer and helps students as a career coach with Ontario Career Lab, an organization that links Grade 9 and 10 students with industry professionals. He has also been a trustee for the Durham District School Board. Justice Jacula earned his degree from Osgoode Hall Law School at York University. Justice Andrew David Midwood has been assigned to Peterborough.
