Authorities report that a 13-year-old girl is facing charges for allegedly displaying an imitation firearm.
Durham police stated that around 6 p. m. on April 23, they were summoned to the area of Bridle Road and Northern Dancer Drive in Oshawa following reports of someone armed. Officers claim the young girl showed a firearm with an extended magazine to other youths after a verbal dispute.
According to police, she ran away before they arrived. There were no injuries reported related to this event.
A little while later, officers found the suspect and took her into custody without any issues. A search warrant was carried out at a home where police reportedly confiscated an imitation Glock.
A 13-year-old girl from Ajax has been charged with possessing a dangerous weapon and is being held for a bail hearing.
