November 15, 1956 – August 20, 2026
With heavy hearts, we share the news of William Paul Shewchuk Jr. “Will, Willie” passing away at TBRHSC on Thursday, August 20th, 2026. Willie was a kind and gentle man who dedicated himself to his work and cherished time with family, especially at their camp on Trout Lake. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle.
In his younger years, he enjoyed playing various sports like hockey, fastball, football, and broomball. He loved watching the Blue Jays and the Calgary Flames but remained a lifelong supporter of Gang Green; J-E-T-S. Jets, Jets, Jets.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Gloria-Jean; his sons Randy Shewchuk (Jade), Charlie Carpenter (Natalie), and Tom Carpenter (Jaime); as well as his siblings and numerous nieces and nephews.
He leaves behind his greatest joys-his grandchildren Miller and Sully Shewchuk; Cash Carpenter; Jett, Reese, and Isabella Carpenter.
Willie was predeceased by his father Bill; mother Kate; brother John; sister-in-law Karen; and nephew Jeff.
According to his wishes, there will be no funeral service. Instead, play a round of golf or have a couple of beers while sharing laughs about him chuckling at his own jokes.
Rest easy Willie.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Simpler Times Cremation Centre, 575 Central Avenue, Thunder Bay. Please sign the online condolences at everestofthunderbay. com
