With heavy hearts, we share the news of Samuel Krnac’s passing on January 24th, 2026, at the age of 48.

Samuel was a loving husband to Monica and a caring father to his beloved daughter Samantha. His brothers, Maros and Andreas, will miss him greatly, as will his extended family and friends.

Born on January 2nd, 1978, in Banská Bystrica, Slovakia, he was the second son of Samuel Sr. and Zlatka. Samuel lived life with enthusiasm and kindness. In his younger years, he participated in amateur kickboxing and maintained a passion for fitness throughout his life. He enjoyed working out at the gym and going cycling. Samuel was a big guy with an even bigger heart; he loved helping his family with tough tasks. He had a friendly nature that allowed him to make many friends around the world whom he kept in touch with regularly.

In 1999, Samuel moved to Toronto, Canada, ready to face new challenges head-on. He proudly became a Canadian citizen while keeping his Slovak roots close to him as he connected with other Slovak-Canadians in his community. His career included driving trucks for Coca-Cola Bottling Company before finishing as a Transit Operator for Mi Way Transit. Being a bus driver meant a lot to him because it reminded him of his father’s work back in Slovakia.

Samuel showed incredible strength throughout his life. He survived two serious car accidents that caused traumatic brain injuries but faced these difficulties with determination and hope. After becoming disabled in October 2023, he continued to push forward positively while seeking recovery. Despite battling significant physical and mental challenges over the last couple of years, unfortunately his body could no longer hold up.

He’ll always be remembered as an engaging individual who brought love and energy into every relationship he had with family and friends. His spirited nature will stay alive in the hearts of everyone who knew him.

The Krnac family will hold a private funeral service for close relatives only during this difficult time. We appreciate your understanding regarding our need for privacy at this moment. Samuel will be laid to rest at Mount Hope Catholic Cemetery on Erskine Ave in Toronto.

If you would like to honor Samuel’s memory, please consider donating to the Huntington Society of Canada instead of sending flowers.
