KOURY, Charles Joseph “Chuck or Charlie”

We are heartbroken to share the unexpected passing of Charles on May 13, 2026, at the age of 55. He was a loving son to Maher and Rima (née Mitias) Koury. He was also a devoted brother to Natasha Kolonelos (Peter) and Lara Buziak (Michael). Chuck took great pride in being an uncle to George, Maria, Izabella, Ethan, and Lukas. His absence will be felt deeply by his many aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends.

After completing his post-secondary education in business, Chuck followed his true calling in the culinary field at Stratford’s prestigious culinary school. A gifted and committed chef, he built a respected career across various top-notch restaurants in Windsor and Essex County. His impressive skills and creativity left a significant impact on both his coworkers and diners over the years.

Outside of work, Chuck had a strong passion for sports, especially football. He played during his youth but remained an enthusiastic fan throughout his life. Additionally, he enjoyed coaching track and field and inspired many athletes who looked up to him.

Known affectionately as a “gentle giant,” Chuck had a heart full of kindness. His generosity and readiness to help others were constant themes in the lives of those around him. Whether family member or friend-or even a stranger-Chuck’s warmth made a meaningful difference in their lives. His memory will always be held dear by all who were lucky enough to know him.

Chuck will truly be missed.

Visitation is scheduled at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME – BANWELL CHAPEL, 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E. (519-253-7235) on Monday, May 18, 2026, from 5-8 pm with prayers at 7pm. Visitation will continue at St. Ignatius of Antioch Orthodox Church (1808 Labelle St., Windsor) on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 from 10:00am until the start of funeral services at 11:00am. Burial at Victoria Memorial Gardens will follow afterward. Online condolences and shared memories can be submitted through www. windsorchapel. com
