Marjorie Eva Kane (Sharp)

Born February 12, 1933, in Toronto, Ontario

Died August 5, 2026, in Huntsville, Ontario.

She was the loving wife of the late John Gordon Kane.

Marjorie was a devoted mother to Lynda Kathleen Mc Leod and her husband Murray Donald Mc Leod, and a proud grandmother to Laura Kathleen Langer.

Marjorie graduated from Eastern High School of Commerce in Toronto. She then worked as a secretary in the finance sector where she met her true love, John. They tied the knot on August 7, 1954, and enjoyed nearly 70 years together. After Lynda was born, Marjorie dedicated herself to being a homemaker. In the 1970s, she returned to school to pursue nursing and graduated as an RNA.

The family lived in Scarborough Ontario for 16 years before moving to Markham Ontario. Eventually, Marjorie and John bought their dream home in Unionville where they spent four decades together. Following John’s passing in 2024, Marjorie relocated north to Huntsville Ontario to be closer to her daughter.

Dogs played an important role throughout Marjorie’s life; she had Duke the brindle boxer, Casey a grey hound/shepherd rescue, and several labrador retrievers named Murphy, Clancey, Shannon and Abby.

She enjoyed various hobbies such as crafting miniature doll houses and furniture along with sewing period costumes for the porcelain dolls that she created. Marjorie was quite competitive when it came to scrabble and loved solving crossword puzzles. She always looked forward to reading “Peanuts” and “For Better or For Worse” comic strips along with funny stories by Gregory Clarke and Erma Bombeck while sipping her many cups of Red Rose tea. A fan of the Toronto Blue Jays, she loved catching baseball games both live and on TV.

In accordance with her wishes, Marjorie will be cremated without any celebration of life. Her ashes will be spread alongside her husband’s at their cottage where they made countless memories together.

If you wish to honor her memory further than flowers, donations can be made to Sick Kids Hospital.
