May 9, 1998 – April 18, 2026

Janis Eliza Desmoulin was born on May 9, 1998, in Thunder Bay and passed away on April 18, 2026.

She was the loving daughter of Gale Desmoulin and the late Dave Bidal, and a dear sister to Dale Desmoulin (Clarissa). Janis was also a proud aunt to her beloved nieces and nephews, Chloe, Bailey, Ava, and Brayden.

Her father’s side of the family includes her grandmother Dianne Everett, her aunt Renee Bidal, along with her brothers Jamie and Noah from Prince George. On her mother’s side, Janis had a large extended family who will miss her dearly-many aunts, uncles, and cousins are left behind.

Janis was preceded in death by her father Dave Bidal; her maternal grandparents Friedna Desmoulin and Frank Desmoulin; as well as her paternal grandfather Gill Bidal.

Being an aunt brought Janis immense joy-a role she cherished wholeheartedly. She had a unique connection with each of her nieces and nephews that she valued deeply.

People will remember Janis for her strong love for family and the warmth she shared with everyone around her. Her impact on those closest to her will never be forgotten.

A wake is scheduled for Tuesday, April 28th at 12:00 p. m. at the Long Lake #58 First Nation Recreation Centre. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 29th at 11:00 a. m. in Longlac at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church led by Father Hugo Tremblay. Interment will take place afterward at the Longlac Cemetery.

The arrangements have been made through WESTFORT CHAPEL located at 420 West Gore Street in Thunder Bay.
