JANISSE, Patrick Ernest

Patrick Ernest Janisse passed away peacefully on February 27, 2026, surrounded by his loving family at Hospice of Windsor. He was 84 years old. He is now reunited with his dear wife Karol (nee Harshaw) who passed in 2025. Patrick was a loving father to Shantelle Denis and her husband Dave, as well as Kyle Janisse and his wife Melissa; all residing in Windsor.

He was a cherished “Papa” to Mikey, Christian, and Mia. Della Gabriele held a special place in his heart as a chosen family friend. He was predeceased by his parents, Marc and Lucy Janisse, along with his brother Thomas Janisse. He is survived by siblings Angela Bernard, Suzanne Maziak, Frances Mastromattei, Marianne Simpson, Teresa “Teri” Mc Innes, and Christina “Tina” Martinez. His brother-in-law relationships included Pam Balkwill and Shelley Forester. Patrick also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and one great-great niece.

With over 30 years of dedicated service at Stellantis as a retired employee and being part of Unifor Local 444, he enjoyed many aspects of life including classic cars-his pride being the 1970 Challenger. A history buff with a passion for war trivia made him truly unique. Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to the staff at Hospice of Windsor and the Windsor Regional Cancer Centre for their wonderful care during this time.

Visitation will take place at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Central Chapel), located at 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E., phone number (519) 253-7234 on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 from 3:00 – 5:00pm and again from 7:00 – 9:00pm. Parish prayers are scheduled for 4:30pm that day. Family and friends are invited to gather on Wednesday, March 4th at St. Michael’s Church (2153 Parkwood Ave., Windsor) starting at 9:30am until the Funeral Mass begins at 10:30am. Following this service will be interment at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers or gifts for sympathy purposes honoring Patrick’s memory can be directed towards Hospice of Windsor.
