Jerry passed away peacefully at South Muskoka Memorial Hospital on Friday, February 6th, 2026, at the age of 76.

He is predeceased by his wife Jean Botting (d. 2011) and brother John Hardy (d. 2023).

He is survived by his daughters Lisa Kennedy (Ian) and Krista Riemer.

Loving Gramps to Amy, Nicole, Evan, Quinn, and Logan. Dear brother of Tina Johns (David). Jerry will be remembered by his nieces and nephew, cousins, and close friends.

A lifelong resident of Bracebridge, Jerry spent his working years at Bell Canada.

He cherished High Lake and loved cottage life. He had a wealth of knowledge about our family’s history and all things Muskoka. His stories will always be treasured.

Jerry enjoyed fishing, annual hunting trips with family, traveling south, and projects that gave old items new life. He had a passion for music, especially The Rolling Stones.

We’ll miss his quick wit, caring nature, and warm heart.

We want to thank James Street Retirement Residence, Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital & South Muskoka Memorial Hospital for their kindness and care.

Cremation has been entrusted to Reynold’s Funeral Home. At Jerry’s request, there will be no service held. A private family burial will take place in the summer.
