Garry Lovegrove

January 19, 1946 – September 3, 2026

With heavy hearts and fond memories, we honor the life of Garry Wayne Lovegrove. A dedicated family man, a person of integrity, and truly one of a kind, Garry had a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.

A true hard worker at heart, Garry spent his days on the road – whether transporting snow and gravel or traveling across North America in an RV with his beloved wife, Sandra, along with family and friends – always at the wheel of his red truck. He was familiar with every stretch of road on the map, never forgetting a route, a town, or a story from his travels. He made friends wherever he went. While he cherished the freedom of the open road, his love for people was even greater. He thrived during gatherings with his siblings, nieces and nephews; treasured hunting trips with friends; and lively (yet slow-paced) ATV rides or snowmobile adventures around Muskoka and beyond.

For Garry, family meant everything. He was a reliable source of strength for his sons Jeff and Tom (dec.) and showed deep devotion to his daughters-in-law Ragan and Bernadette. His grandsons Nick (and new grand-daughter-in-law Sam) and Lyle brought him immense pride and joy; their lives were enriched by his wisdom, humor, and love.

Garry enjoyed country music, loved a good joke, and stood by his word – stubbornness included at times. He relished surprise visits and spontaneous beers with friends, family members, and neighbors. His door was always open. Whether sharing stories around the kitchen table or gathering under the stars late into the night, Garry found happiness surrounded by those he loved most. Somewhere out there right now you can bet he’s still keeping the fire going strong as he remains content to be last at the campfire.

Garry will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife Sandra during a private family graveside service. A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Grandview Golf Club (245 Grandview Dr. N., Huntsville ON) from 1:00 p. m. to 4:00 p. m., with tributes starting at 2:00 p. m. For those unable to attend in person, the service will be livestreamed.

In memory of Garry and honoring his commitment to community service work through donations would be greatly appreciated by Hospice Huntsville in lieu of flowers.
