Mrs. Eleanor Mc Murray, age 92, a long-time resident of Thunder Bay, passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Southbridge Roseview on Mon. May 18th, 2026.

Eleanor began her working life as a “cookee” at just 12 years old in various bush camps throughout North Western Ontario. At the age of 16, she met and later married her husband Donald. She also spent many years working as a waitress and bartender until 1985 when she decided to turn her love for crafts into a business called “UNIQUE FAMILY CRAFTS,” which has been run by family since 2000.

Eleanor will be fondly remembered by her daughters Carole (Don), Sharen, and Dawn (James).

Her granddaughters Jennifer and Julie (Andrei), along with great granddaughter Emilia, will also hold her memory close.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Donald, brother Robert, mother Amelia, and father Einar.

The family wishes to express gratitude for the kind and compassionate care Eleanor received at Roseview.

Thanks also go out to everyone who shared their kind words and condolences. A funeral service will take place on May 29th at 10:30 am at Sargent & Son Funeral Chapel.
