With great sadness, the family shares the sudden loss of Donna Gail Wright at 72. Donna will be fondly remembered for her warmth, creativity, kindness, and the abundant love she gave to everyone around her.

Christmas was her favorite time of year, and she had a unique way of making it special and unforgettable for her family. She was an amazing cook, and her fantastic crafting skills showed her imagination, patience, and care. Whether she was making something by hand, cooking a meal, or decorating for the holidays, she infused love into everything she created.

She adored her husband and fishing buddy, Ken, and took pride in her children, John and Amanda. Her four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren were her greatest joy; she cherished every moment spent with them. She also looked forward to Sunday visits from her beloved fur grandbaby, Ariel.

Family was everything to her. She treasured “Sissy Wednesday” with her older sister Debi and enjoyed shopping trips and lunches with sisters-in-law Gail and Louise. Simple traditions like hosting holiday dinners filled her with happiness and turned into precious memories for all who loved her.

Born in Bolton, she moved to Thunder Bay in the late 1970s. She started as a health care aide at Central Park Lodge where she met Sharon, a friend for life. Later on, she furthered her education and ran the recreation department there until Roseview Manor opened; this continued until she retired in 2014. She loved working with the residents under her care as well as the wonderful staff beside whom she worked for many years.

After retirement, she dedicated more time to crafting beautiful projects and creating stunning gardens each year. Her backyard became a peaceful retreat filled with beauty that reflected who she truly was.

Donna is survived by her caring husband Ken; children John Miller (Tamara) and Amanda Harris; stepchildren Rick (Cheryl), Randy, and Kathleen; sister Debi (Dave); as well as in-laws Gail, Louise, Neil (Nancy).

She was predeceased by parents Edythe and Ed along with Harry; brothers Ronnie and Kippy; aunt Judy; mother-in-law Norine; father-in-law Ronald; brothers-in-law Bill and Dennis.

She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, creativity, along with countless cherished memories. All who knew her will miss her deeply.

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Donna’s good friend Joanne along with the ICU team.

A Celebration of Life for friends and family will take place on Sunday August 9th 2026 between 1:00pm – 4:00pm as an open tea gathering in the Marco Polo Room at Da Vinci Centre located at 320 Waterloo St S. Donations can be made to any charity you choose.

Condolences can be left at www. nwfainc. com
