With heavy hearts, our family shares the news of Alexander “Buddy” Joseph Beck’s passing on Thursday, April 23rd, 2026, at the age of 69. He was surrounded by his loving wife, children, grandchildren, and sisters during his final week as they stayed close by his side.

Buddy was born on March 1st, 1957 to Wilfred and Maureen Beck in St. Lawrence, Newfoundland. As the oldest of five siblings, he was a caring and protective brother to Stephanie (Charles), Yvonne (Chris), Sharon (Sam), and Tracy (James). The Beck family later moved to Toronto, Ontario where Buddy met Heather and married her in 1992.

He was a devoted father to Candice (Colin), Alex (Shelby), Nicole (Dustin) and Donna. As a proud grandpa to Scarlet, Carter, Maria, Atlas, Wrenley, and Ayden, he will be dearly missed by countless friends and family from coast to coast.

Buddy lived life with a wild spirit and an adventurous heart. He made the most out of every day without regrets and always showed up as his true self. His journey was filled with experiences that could fill many lifetimes-each more exciting than the last.

From a short time in the military to cutting down trees in British Columbia; racing cars along the Trans-Canada highway; settling into small-town Ontario; raising kids and dogs; attending Sunday services; making sure to call his mother-Buddy truly did it all. He knew how to balance having roots while soaring with wings.

No one compared to Buddy-his unique way of living matched only by his character. A friend to many and protector for all, he valued family above everything else. He was always there when you needed him-the reliable voice on the other end of the line or someone ready to support you no matter what came your way. A true maverick who faced life fearlessly with both pride and humility-a man who never judged or acted arrogantly. Larger than life itself-he could be a knight one moment and a jester the next. Always first to lend a helping hand or crack a joke-he lit up any room he entered while also working alongside you toward solutions for any problem you faced. Imaginative yet delightfully quirky-he rarely accepted ‘no’ for an answer. His ambition was unwavering whether in work or play as he constantly pushed limits through speed or adventure-all while knowing exactly who he was-a rare trait indeed! Buddy’s unforgettable life cannot be summed up easily but is what made him so incredibly special.

Alexander “Buddy” Joseph Beck leaves behind not just years but rather an incredible depth of love that inspired everyone around him through his passion for living fully each day! We will miss him deeply as we honor his memory forevermore.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at Fenelon Court Long Term Care Home whose care meant so much-not only for Buddy but for all who loved him-we are endlessly grateful!

Everyone is invited to join us in remembering Buddy during a viewing on Sunday May 3rd, 2026 starting at 11:00 a. m., followed by a memorial service at 1:00 p. m., both held at Forrest & Taylor Funeral Home located at 20846 Dalton Road Sutton Ontario L0E 1R0 Canada. Afterward there will be a reception at 27 Forestry Dr., Pefferlaw Ontario L0E 1N0.
