A Toronto police officer is currently hospitalized with serious injuries after their motorcycle crashed into a tractor-trailer on Highway 403 near Oakville.
The incident took place around 3:15 p. m. in the westbound lanes of Highway 403, close to Dundas Street West.
According to Ontario Provincial Police Sgt. Kerry Schmidt, paramedics quickly transported the officer to a trauma center after the accident. Thankfully, his serious injuries were later found to be non-life-threatening.
Westbound Highway 403 was shut down at Dundas Street West while police conducted their investigation but reopened almost six hours later.
There’s no information yet about what caused the crash.
