Halton Regional Police report that a 34-year-old man from Mississauga has been charged with voyeurism after allegedly recording an adult woman while she was changing inside a fitting room at a Winners store in Oakville.
As per a news release from the police, officers were called to the location at 2460 Winston Churchill Blvd. on July 22, 2026. Authorities say the woman confronted the individual, who then fled before law enforcement arrived.
Investigators were able to identify the suspect.
On July 27, Jeffrey Abou-Mechrek, aged 34 and from Mississauga, was taken into custody in Oakville and charged with one count of voyeurism. He has since been released on an undertaking and is set to appear in court in Milton.
The police are worried there could be other victims and have shared a photo of the accused.
