A 34-year-old man from Mississauga has been charged in a voyeurism case after a woman was reportedly filmed at a clothing store in Oakville.
As per a statement from Halton Regional Police released on Thursday morning, the incident took place on July 22 at a Winners store located on Winston Churchill Boulevard near Dundas Street West.
The report indicated that officers were dispatched to the store following claims that a man was using his cellphone to record a woman changing inside a fitting room.
The suspect fled the scene before police arrived. However, investigators managed to identify him and apprehended him in Oakville on July 27.
Authorities stated that Jeffrey Abou-Mechrek is facing charges of voyeurism. He has since been released and is expected to appear in Milton court at a later date.
Investigators believe there may be more victims and have shared a photo of the accused.
The allegations remain unproven until confirmed by the court.
