Two Arrested in Oakville SUV Theft Case
Halton Police arrest two suspects connected to overnight auto theft in Oakville

Two individuals from Quebec are facing charges following an investigation into the theft of a Toyota Sequoia SUV in Oakville.

According to the Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS), the SUV was stolen during the night on Monday, May 25th, after suspects broke a window and used a reprogramming device to start and take the vehicle. Investigators traced the suspects to East York, where officers monitored their activities and identified more stolen vehicles reportedly linked to them.

On Wednesday, May 27th, police took 23-year-old Thyson Joseph from Quebec into custody and charged him with:

Theft of Motor Vehicle Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 (two counts) Failure to Comply with Undertaking (two counts) Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000

Joseph was already under two separate release orders for prior auto theft charges and was held for a bail hearing in Milton.

Another 23-year-old from Quebec was also arrested by police and charged with:

Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000

Investigators executed a search warrant at a residence in East York and recovered:

An Acura sedan stolen from Montreal An Acura SUV stolen from Peel Region A reprogramming device Stolen licence plates Additional stolen property
