The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has arrested a suspect and filed multiple charges after a shooting incident in Oakville.
Officers responded to reports of gunfire around 5:30 a. m. on Sunday, March 29th, near Lakeshore Road and Fourth Line. A male victim was taken to the hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening, and authorities believe the shooting was intentional.
Authorities report that an 18-year-old man from Barrie has been detained in relation to the case. Jayon Burgher faces several charges, including:
Careless Use of a Firearm Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle Use a Firearm While Committing an Offence Discharge Firearm with Intent Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose Mischief to Property – Over $5000
Police indicate that the accused is currently in custody awaiting a bail hearing in Milton.
