Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has arrested a suspect and filed multiple charges after a shooting incident in Oakville.
Police responded to reports of gunfire near Lakeshore Road and Fourth Line around 5:30 a. m. on Sunday, March 29th. One man was taken to the hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening, and investigators suspect that the event was intentional.
Authorities state that an 18-year-old from Barrie, named Jayon Burgher, has been apprehended in connection with this case. He faces several charges including:
Careless Use of a Firearm Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle Use a Firearm While Committing an Offence Discharge Firearm with Intent Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose Mischief to Property – Over $5000
According to police, the suspect is currently being held in custody awaiting a bail hearing in Milton.

Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) is looking into an early morning shooting in Oakville that resulted in one person being hospitalized.
Police were alerted to gunfire near Lakeshore Road and Fourth Line around 5:30 a. m. on Sunday, March 29th. A man was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries; investigators believe this was not random.
As part of their ongoing work, officers are asking local residents and drivers to check any dashcam footage recorded between 5:00 a. m. and 6:30 a. m. across various locations including Lakeshore Road, Fourth Line, Ford Drive, and Winston Churchill Boulevard extending into Mississauga.
Currently, there are no descriptions available for suspects or vehicles involved.
