A proposal to demolish two houses in Mississauga comes up for consideration subsequent week.

The property proprietor of 12 and 16 Ontario St. W. in Streetsville wish to take away the houses to make manner for a townhome growth, in accordance with a report back to the Jan. 6 Heritage Advisory Committee.

Each properties are listed on the heritage registry, however neither is designated.

The primary proprietor of 12 and 16 Ontario St. W. was Timothy Road, who acquired all of Streetsville from The Crown in 1820. Henry Rutledge was the second proprietor of the properties and the encircling space.

Each Road and Rutledge have been instrumental within the institution of Streetsville, nevertheless, there are not any buildings on the Ontario Road properties from that point interval, the report notes.

The house at 12 Ontario St. W. was a Trinity Anglican Church Rectory, constructed for Reverend Reverend Robert Jackson McGeorge in circa 1843, but it surely wasn’t initially on this property.

Metropolis of Mississauga employees suggest approving the request for demolition.

The townhomes proposed for the property would come with components of the Georgian Revival Fashion and the Neoclassical type, each with a contemporary aptitude, the report states.
