The province’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) says it’s looking into the death of a 35-year-old man who fell from a condo in Mississauga on Wednesday.
In a news release on Thursday, the SIU announced it is taking action because Peel police were present when the man died.
Officers arrived at the scene after receiving a call about a man in distress at a condo building located near Eglinton Avenue W. and Hurontario Street around 10 a. m. Wednesday, according to the release.
They then went into the man’s unit and “attempted to negotiate,” as stated in the release.
The SIU reported that the man ended up falling from a “high floor to the ground below” and was pronounced dead after being transported to the hospital.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the SIU.
