A Toronto restaurant that’s been recognized by Michelin is gearing up to open a new spot in Mississauga.
PAI, a popular Thai eatery loved by celebrities, has filed for a liquor sales licence at Square One Shopping Centre.
This would mark the first PAI location outside of Toronto.
Celebrated as one of the best Thai restaurants in Toronto, it often sees long lines even during weekday lunch hours.
The kitchen is led by renowned Chef Nuit Regular, and the menu features standout dishes like an iconic papaya salad, beef salad, khao soi, pad see ew, pad gra prow and various curries. You can’t miss their pad Thai!
PAI takes its name from the village in Thailand where Nuit Regular and her husband started their first restaurant, as noted in the Michelin recommendation.
“A former nurse, Nuit now soothes by cooking her family recipes and street food favorites for hungry patrons,” the recommendation says.
The portions are designed for sharing with different spice levels, focusing heavily on northern Thai cuisine.
PAI hasn’t commented on their expansion plans yet, saying it’s too soon to share details.
However, the application for a liquor sales licence at PAI Square One lists its address as 100 City Centre Dr., Unit FM07.
This unit was previously occupied by Farzi Cafe, which closed last summer following complaints about billing customers for items they thought were complimentary.
According to the application, PAI Square One aims to serve alcohol both indoors and outdoors.
The existing PAI locations in Toronto can be found at 18 Duncan St. and 2335 Yonge St.
