A woman is facing charges for attempted murder related to a stabbing incident that occurred in Mississauga over the weekend.
Authorities were alerted to the scene near Main Street and Dundas Street East just after 5:30 p. m.
The police report that a man was discovered with a severe stab wound and was taken to a trauma center by paramedics, where he is currently listed as critical.
An initial altercation led to the arrest of another man, but he was released after investigators concluded he wasn’t involved in the stabbing.
A search began for a second suspect, later identified as 42-year-old Lorena Sanchez from Mississauga. She was apprehended on Monday afternoon.
Sanchez has been charged with one count of attempted murder and remains in custody awaiting her bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
