Highway 403 in Mississauga was shut down for several hours on Friday as crews worked to clear the bed of a dump truck that struck an overpass close to Hurontario Street.

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) reported that the truck was driving with its box elevated when it hit the overpass shortly before 11:20 a. m. There were no other vehicles involved, and thankfully, no injuries have been reported.

A bridge inspector was summoned to evaluate any potential damage to the bridge and confirm its safety for use.

The eastbound lanes of Highway 403 were closed between Mavis Road and Hurontario Street but reopened after rush hour.
