Tinley Park incumbents Michael Mueller and William Brennan, along with Ken Shaw from the One Tinley Park ticket, topped the unofficial vote tally on Wednesday. Each received over 27% of the votes, while Trustee Diane Galante, running as an independent for reelection, lagged behind with 16%, according to data from the Cook County clerk.
Final results will take a couple of weeks as election officials await mail-in ballots and potential provisional ballots.
In Markham City Council, three out of four seats were contested. Ward 1 incumbent Brenna Hampton-Houser secured 63.4% of the votes against challenger David H. Walker, while Ward 2 incumbent Wanda Jean Mc Dowell achieved 78.5% over Lenise Y. Neal.
Ward 3 saw Alderman Rondal Jones not seeking another term; Joseph G. Bertrand Jr. claimed victory with 72% of the votes against Terry White and Laurence Patterson II.
Hazel Crest voters faced a competitive race with seven candidates vying for three spots, leading to close unofficial results.
Independent Sandra Alexander led with 16.5% of the vote, followed closely by incumbent Sandra Slayton at 15.9%, and Carmilla Malone who had 15.7%.
Independent Poortia Slay garnered 14.7%, just trailing Malone by only 45 votes. Incumbents Benjamin Ramsey and Mary Grant, running alongside Slayton under Hazel Crest United Party, received 14.4% and 13.2%, respectively.
In Homewood, residents voted on a contest where four candidates competed for three Village Board seats. Incumbents Jay Heiferman and Julie Willis from the Greater Homewood Party got 25.7% and 26.1%, respectively, followed by independent Anne Colton who had 24.5%. Incumbent Chenise “Cece” Belue trailed behind with 23.7% of the vote.
Olympia Fields voters faced six candidates competing for three seats which may have resulted in ousting incumbent Desiree Watkins who captured only 12.75%. The front-runners included incumbent Sandra Finley with 21.7%, alongside challengers Kenneth Smith and Jennifer Beasley each securing just over 19% of the vote.
The race in Park Forest involved five candidates aiming for three Village Board positions where incumbent Tiffani Graham took the lead with 27.2%. Randall J. White Jr., came next at20.4%, followed by John V. Moore at18 %. Joshua Travis finished closely behind at17.4 %, just26 fewer votes than Moore , while Andrew Gladsone rounded it off at16.9 %.
In Palos Heights , incumbent Ward3 Alderman Brent Lewandowski maintained a strong lead against challenger George Popelka , achieving64 %ofthevote.
Six contenders sought three Village Board spots in Frankfort where Jessica Petrow , Adam Borrelli , and Maura A. Rigoni all surpassed25 %ofthevotes , outperforming Marc Dabacoand Hillary E. Kurzawawho both gatheredaround11.5 %each.
The Burnham elections featured seven individuals competing for three four-year terms; incumbents led by Brenda Greer took22.4 %, followed closely by Graciela Garciaand Carmella Richardsonwho eachhadnearly20 %. Antwon T. Russell was nearbywith17.5 %, whiletheotherthreecandidatesdrewless than10 %ofthevote.
Incumbent Jeffery Hodges won his two-year term competition against Markita L. Alexanderwith69.7 %ofthevotes.
Dixmoor had six candidates battling for three Village Board slots during a heated election where a judge reinstated three challengers after local electoral board disqualified them from ballots. Incumbents Teatroy Webster, Toni Mitchell, and Judnita Smith all secured above22 %ofthesupportagainstformertrustees Alda Leavy-Skinner, Cynthia J. Mossuto, and Raymond Lavignewhoscoredbelow12 %each.
The bulk of Dolton’s activity happened during its February28 primary when nine participants competed forthree seats. Incumbents Andrew Holmesand Tammie Brown showed up againon Tuesday’sballotsalongside Stan Brownwhooutperformedincumbent Edward Steave.
The candidacyof write-in Linda Terell was backedby Dolton Mayor Tiffany Henyard, butresultsforwrite-inswereunavailablefromthe Cook Countyclerks’ officeon Tuesday.
