The festival’s August edition is set for Friday, Aug. 7 and Saturday, Aug. 8 at South River in the Port Lands. Friday features a lineup with Boris Brejcha, Cassian, Kasablanca, AYYBO, Devault and Marta; then Saturday showcases Eli Brown, KI/KI, MK, DJ Seinfeld, Robag Wruhme and others. Electric Island will also be back for its Labour Day weekend finale on Sept. 5 and 6 at Fort York and The Bentway. Saturday’s lineup includes Green Velvet, Layton Giordani, Murda Beatz, Joy Orbison and X CLUB; while Sunday features PAWSA, Paco Osuna, Nico Moreno, Cloudy and Pegassi! This year’s Wavelength Summer Thing returns to Trillium Park at Ontario Place on Sunday, Aug. 16-and it’s completely free! This year’s event has expanded too! There are now two performance spaces: a main stage and a lake stage. Canadian rapper Shad headlines alongside artists like Absolute Treat, Bells Larsen, CJ Wiley, Eliza Niemi, Janette King, Sister Ray, Tauro and Afro-Brazilian percussion group Maracatu Mar Aberto.
