London Hydro has announced that most customers have had their electricity restored after around 15,000 residents experienced outages late Tuesday afternoon.
The outages primarily affected areas around Wonderland Road North, including the Medway, White Hills, and Fox Hollow neighborhoods, as shown on London Hydro’s publicly available outage map.
“We’re aware of 15,000 customers being out in the northwest area of London,” said London Hydro spokesperson Kathryn Arnot shortly after the outages started.
About an hour after reports came in about the outages, officials indicated that an “animal contact” led to a failure in equipment.
Other significant outages were noted in Oakridge and River Bend in the western part of the city, as well as in Carling located on the east side of London.
