Sunfest has concluded its largest festival ever, featuring 54 musical acts, including over 30 international artists, alongside more than 200 vendors and 700 volunteers.
“This year we had to cut off our volunteers and put them on wait list because we had so much interest and people coming to help out,” said Sunfest co-director Mercedes Caxaj, adding it felt “bigger, and better than ever.”
Thousands of visitors filled the park from Thursday through Sunday afternoon for the festival’s final day, relishing the food, sunshine, and last daytime performances.
“Hearing the music, all the different people, seeing all the different foods from different cultures has been really nice,” said Andrea Giraldo.
This weekend was a hit for food vendors like Irma Cruz, who has been serving Salvadoran food at Sunfest for 27 years.
“It was fantastic,” Cruz said. “Yesterday I almost sold out.”
Cruz noted that she’s seen significant changes in the festival over those 27 years, with many more vendors participating than before.

For some of the more than 30 international artists who performed this year, it was their first time visiting London-and Canada overall.
