dleindecdp / Depositphotos. com UPDATE: Environment Canada has canceled the Tornado warning for the Kingston area. Environment Canada meteorologists are monitoring a severe thunderstorm that might be producing a tornado. Strong winds, large hail, and heavy rainfall are also possible. This is a very dangerous situation that could pose serious risks. If threatening weather is nearby, take cover right away in a basement, an interior room, or another sturdy shelter. If you can’t find shelter, lie down in a low area and protect your head from flying debris. If you’re on the water when severe weather hits, return to shore and seek shelter if you can. Otherwise, move away from the tornado’s path to stay safe. Wear your lifejacket, lie face down, and cover your head. Emergency Management Ontario advises everyone to take cover immediately if severe weather approaches. Tornado warnings are issued when a thunderstorm is either producing or likely to produce a tornado. Please keep checking alerts and forecasts from Environment Canada. If you see severe weather in Ontario, email ONstorm@ec. gc. ca or share reports on X using #ONStorm. For more information: ontario. ca/page/be-prepared-emergency. In effect for: Kingston – Odessa – Frontenac Islands
