Steve Clark believes people are responsible enough to abide by the new rules.

The Ontario government is relaxing alcohol regulations in provincial parks as summer approaches. This update will start when the parks open for the spring and summer seasons, allowing adults to consume alcohol in more locations beyond just their campsites.

Officials state that this change aims to enhance visitor experience and promote tourism throughout the province.

Local MPP Steve Clark mentions that the government truly listened to public feedback with this adjustment.

Clark feels confident that most visitors will behave responsibly under these updated guidelines.

According to the new policy, drinking will be permitted in various public areas like beaches and picnic spots where it’s allowed. Nonetheless, certain areas will still prohibit alcohol, with clear signage posted.

Park staff will continue enforcing rules to ensure parks remain safe and family-friendly. This includes consuming drinks only where it’s allowed, being considerate of others, disposing of waste properly, and avoiding driving or boating while impaired.
